Singer-songwriter and poet Stan Rogers is well known for shaping the identity of Canadian music with the folk songs he wrote and performed. With a family history rooted in the Maritimes on both sides of his family, Stan found himself in Nova Scotia where he began to write songs about his familial home. That first series of songs found their way onto his debut album, Fogarty's Cove, which remains a favorite of Canadian folk-lovers today.  Stan later produced several albums, featuring his music about diverse geographical areas of Canada, including the East, the Plains, the West and the Great Lakes of Ontario. Stan died tragically in an airline fire on June 2, 1983 at the age of 33.
