Ray Johnson has been a member of the Ancaster Lions Club for more than 40 years. In that time, he has held a variety of offices, from Zone Chair supervising eight clubs, to District Governor supervising 81 clubs. Currently, Ray is chair of Lions Quest Canada. This program holds 50 to 70 social skills workshops a year across Canada. Ray also had a distinguished career as an athletic administrator, coach and faculty member at McMaster University. He was a professor in the Department of Kinesiology and served two terms as the chair of Men's Athletics. Ray has been honoured for his more than 40 years of volunteer work in various areas of the community, including health agencies and sports committees, and he continues to work to raise awareness of social issues to help others.
