Rules of Use of the Archives

The following rules must be strictly adhered to when using Local History & Archives material and information

 

  1. Permission to photocopy the manuscripts or archival material is to be obtained from the Local History & Archives Information Staff. The copyright law of Canada governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Certain copying may be an infringement of the copyright law. This library is not responsible for infringing copies made by users.
  2. Manuscript or archival materials are to be used in the Waldon Room of Local History & Archives.
  3. Care must be taken when dealing with archival and manuscript materials so that no damage occurs. No marks of any kind are to be made on any of the material. Eating and drinking is not permitted while using these materials. This includes candy, chewing gum, etc.
  4. All manuscript or archival materials are to be returned to the Information Desk 15 minutes before the department closes.

 

Times to return material to the Information Desk

  • Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 8:45 p.m.
  • Friday: 5:45 p.m.
  • Saturday/Sunday 4:45 p.m.

 

Violation of these rules may result in access privileges being withdrawn.
