One of the oldest and most distinctive regions in eastern Canada, the City of Hamilton’s history has been defined by its geographic footprint and its key location as a transportation hub.
Even before the arrival of the United Empire Loyalists and the beginning of immigration from many parts of the world, the Hamilton area was on a main trade transportation route for aboriginal peoples.
