D.A.R.T.S.is a door-to-door transportation service employing wheelchair accessible buses and contracted taxi service when appropriate.  Service is provided from one accessible building door entrance to another accessible building door entrance.

The Accessiblity for Ontarians with Disabilities Act 2005 was passed on June 13, 2005 at Queen's Park.  The Accessibility Standards Advisory Council and the Accessibility Advisory Council of Ontario will guide the implementation of this landmark legislation.

The Advocacy Centre for the Elderly (ACE) is a community based legal clinic for low income senior citizens in Ontario. ACE is funded by Legal Aid Ontario to provide a range of legal services including: direct client assistance, public legal education, law reform, community development and referrals.

 

Canadian Association for Supported Employment
This site holds resources and connections for professionals who provide career and job development support to job-seekers with disabilities.

 

Canadian Transportation Agency-Accessible Transportation
Canadian government agency responsible to ensure undue obstacles to the mobility of persons with a disability are removed from federally regulated transportation services and facilities. Includes an Air Travel Reservation Check List. This is an invaluable site.

 

Community Legal Education Ontario
Community Legal Education Ontario (CLEO) is a community legal clinic dedicated to providing low-income and disadvantaged people in Ontario with the legal information they need to understand and exercise their legal rights.

 

Consent and Capacity Board
This Board is an independent body created by the government of Ontario under the Health Care Consent Act. It conducts hearings under the Mental Health Act, the Health Consent Act, the Personal Health Information Protection Act and the Subsitute Decisions Act.

Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee
This office is aprt of the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General. Contact them for information regarding Powers of Attorney for Personal Care; Continuing Powers of Attorney for Property; the Substitute Decisions Act; and guardianship.
